Belmont Plumbing and Heating (a trading name of PD Plumbing and Heating (Aberdeen) Ltd, Companies House SC715113) is the data controller for personal information you give us. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to do the job you've asked us to do. That typically means:

  • Your name, phone number and email address — so we can confirm appointments and follow up
  • Your address and postcode — so we know where to send an engineer
  • A short description of what's wrong or what you need — so we know what to bring
  • Records of any work carried out — invoices, gas safety certificates, parts fitted, dates
  • Anonymous website analytics where the visitor's identity is not tracked (no third-party advertising trackers, no cookies for analytics)

Why we collect it

We use your information to perform the contract you have asked us to enter into (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR — performance of a contract) and, where relevant, to comply with our legal obligations as a Gas Safe registered firm (Article 6(1)(c) — legal obligation), such as issuing landlord gas safety records under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.

We do not use your information for marketing without your separate, opt-in consent. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties except where strictly necessary to deliver the job (for example a parts supplier needing your address for direct delivery) or where required by law.

How long we keep it

  • Active customer records: for the duration of the working relationship and ongoing services
  • Invoicing and accounting records: seven years, in line with HMRC requirements
  • Gas safety records (CP12 and equivalents): the statutory minimum of two years, in practice longer for our own records
  • Unsuccessful enquiry data (visitors who didn't proceed to a job): typically two years, then deleted
  • Website analytics: no personal data is stored

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Have your information erased where we no longer need it for the purpose we collected it for
  • Restrict our processing of your information
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we've handled your data improperly

How to exercise your rights

Email us at mail@belmontplumbing.scot or ring 07308 204100. We will respond within one month, normally a lot faster. There is no charge for exercising your rights.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which pages get visited and how visitors get here. GA4 is configured with IP anonymisation and Consent Mode v2 set to 'denied' by default, meaning no analytics cookies are set until you grant consent. We do not use Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, retargeting tags or any third-party marketing tools.

If we embed a Google Map on a page, the map is loaded only after you click to load it, at which point Google's own cookies apply. See our separate Cookies page for the full breakdown of every cookie and what it does.
